Erick Matthews Bio
Erick Matthews was introduced to the industry by John P Kee in 1996. The first song he was featured on was John's V.I.P project "Stand" on the title cut "Let us Praise and Worship Him", which went gold the first 6 months of release. He also did a long form live video and concept video with John for the same project which played in regular rotation on video channels all over the country.
The next project released in 1996 was "Special Christmas Gift", he was featured on the songs entitled "Oh Holy Night", "Silent Night", and "Perfect Plan". In 1997 Erick's first solo project "Friend 4 Always" was released on New Life/Verity records, and well received by the industry, with 2 stellar nominations for Male Vocalist of the year contemporary and Best New Artist.
Erick then featured on the next project released by John P.Kee and New Life in 1998 "Strength” which won multiple stellars. The same year he was featured on his sister’s debut album Drea Randle's “Ooo Wee" produced by John Kee.
In the year of 2000 Erick went in the studio to work on his sophomore project entitled "No Fear In Me" released in 2001 on Crystal Rose Records. He received 5 Excellent Award nominations and 2 Stellar nominations.
After touring and being featured on cd project's for the likes of Ben Tankard, William Becton, Prime Minister, Drea Randle, M.C Hammer and a number of underground artist. In 2007 he started his own Record label and secured a Label Imprint (PMD) deal with Avista/Warner Music Group. Erick is back with his third solo project entitled "Life Captured" to be released on Gumbo Entertainment/Avista Records/Warner Music Group.
The release date is July 17th. The project features Charese Nicole, Drea Randle, and BBJ with production by Erick Matthews and Alvin Garrett (music director for Ruben Studdard).
Erick's management team is currently working on tour dates for the promotion of The Life Captured Tour. He’s an Author, Pastor, Songwriter, Producer, CEO, Husband and Father. He loves the lord and wants to spread the gospel of Jesus through the many gift’s and talents that God has given him.
